What days are you available to take care of my pet?

We provide dog walking and pet sitting services seven days a week, 365 days a year.

What advantages does in-home pet care have over boarding facilities?

In-home pet sittings are geared towards reducing stress and increasing the comfort and happiness of your pet. Your pet may already be dealing with separation anxiety when their loved ones are away, adding an unfamiliar environment could cause a lot of additional, unnecessary stress. In-home sittings also reduce the risk of your pet being exposed to illness, fleas and potential aggression from other animals in boarding facilities. The best place for your pet is always home sweet home!

Do you accept last minute or emergency requests?

We understand life happens. Flights get delayed, work meetings run long, many things can cause your pets to be in need unexpectedly. We will always make every effort to accommodate your emergency pet care needs. Last minute scheduling may not be available at the exact time your pet needs services, we will be there as soon as we can and are happy to clean up any messes that may have occurred as a result of their wait. *A short notice fee of $25.00 may be applied.

How do you determine what time the sitter will visit my home?

Whether providing daily visits or midday dog walks to your pets, your sitter will aim to keep as close to your pet’s routines as possible. Just let us know the time range you prefer your scheduled visit to take place. When you meet for your initial consultation, you will let your sitter know all you can about your pets’ normal activities, and they’ll do their very best to keep that same routine!

When do I give my keys to the pet sitter?

Most clients give their keys at the initial meet and greet consultation before services begin or provide access information to their key lock box if available. If you do not have a lock box, and we have to get the key from you after our initial Meet & Greet, we offer a $25 pick up/drop off service. To help ensure we are best prepared for your visits, we require two (2) copies of your keys made available for the sitters. It is vital that you ensure the duplicate key works properly by testing them on your door before handing them over to the sitters. One key will be securely kept at the office for emergency backup purposes, while the second is held with the pet sitters assigned for the duration of your visits.

What is your policy on pet sitting and dog walking when the weather affects visitations?

As long as the weather does not pose a threat to either the pet sitter or the pets, we will certainly stay on schedule to ensure proper care during scheduled visitations. It’s plausible that inclement weather (i.e. heavy rain causing hazardous road conditions) can potentially delay scheduled arrival times. We will do everything we can to keep both your pets and the assigned sitters safe. When such weather conditions (including extreme heat) occur please understand that your dog’s walk may be shortened to only allow for a quick potty break. Leaving towels to wipe down a wet pup during rainy seasons helps keep your home clean. The sitter will always stay with your pets for the duration of the scheduled visit, rain or shine.

How can I help Wiggle your Tail gain access to my gated or secure access building?

Wiggle Your Tail needs to be given access to any and all doors or gates needed to get to your pets. This includes providing us with gate keys, FOBs/ Clickers, gate codes, and authorizing Wiggle Your Tail’s access with any guarded gates. Not providing us direct access to your home may result in additional fees if the pet sitter is left waiting for another solution.

Where do you walk my dog?

We walk each client’s dog in the comfort and safety of your own neighborhood. We do not gather dogs from different clients and walk them at the same time. We take pride in believing that our attention to each client’s pet should be focused solely on them.

Do your dog walkers take my dog off-leash during their walk?

For the safety of your dog, Wiggle Your Tail does not offer off-leash dog walking. Dogs may however, be off leash in the privacy of their own yard or secured area on property.

Bottom line: your dog MUST be on a leash if it’s outside. It is unlawful for a domestic animal to stray, run, go, or roam at-large in or upon any public street, sidewalk, school grounds, in the area of school vehicles, beaches, parks, or on the private property of others without consent of the property owner.

Are there fees for canceling scheduled services?

For all visits, we require that your cancellation request be made 24 hours before the start of service to avoid charges. If a drop in visit or walk is cancelled after 24 hours of the start of service we will charge a $15.00 cancellation fee for the visit. Sittings and Overnight visits require a 7-day notice for cancellation, and will be credited to your account. No refund will be issued. We guarantee visits on a first come first serve basis, so booking early is in your best interest. Our sitters may change their personal schedules or family commitments in order to be present for an overnight stay or drop in appointment; our cancellation fees help to fairly compensate our pet sitters for the time they reserved.

I allow my cat access to my patio/backyard occasionally. Will my pet sitter do this too?

Due to safety concerns of your beloved cat, we generally keep all cats indoors throughout the duration of our visits. If it is insisted that the cat be given dual indoor/outdoor access during or between our visits, we cannot guarantee your cat’s return and will not be held liable in the event it does not return.

What kind of timeframe do you need for our scheduled dog walking or pet sitting visits? Do you come at an exact time?

We schedule all visits with a minimum of a 1-hour window for our sitter to arrive for their visit (i.e. scheduled time is 1pm, window of arrival time may be between 12:30pm-1:30pm) *Special accommodations may be made by request.

May I give my sitter or dog walker gratuity?

Absolutely, and it is much appreciated! Our sitters work hard to go above and beyond, and it means a lot to them when they are rewarded for their efforts. You can give gratuities directly to the sitter by leaving out cash, or you may simply add it to your card at the end of your scheduled visits.

Is the information I give to Wiggle Your Tail confidential?

Yes. Wiggle Your Tail is committed to keeping all information we receive from our clients and staff confidential, and will not disclose any of your personal information including your mailing address, phone numbers, and email address. We will only use your information as a means to take good care of your pets and home while you are away. All of our pet sitters have signed Privacy Agreements, and are background checked.

Will I get the same sitter each time I am away?

We believe it is important to have a pet care professional that you and your pets know and trust. Having a dedicated pet professional allows us to provide the most personal custom care possible. We want your pets to feel like their care provider is family. Just another way to maximize the comfort and happiness of your pets while their loved ones are away. However, if your preferred sitter is not available, we have other pet care professionals that would be more than happy to step in. Scheduling ahead of time helps to see the availability of your preferred sitter and gives enough time to meet with a different sitter if they are not available.

Will you take care of my pets without meeting the owner first?

Wiggle Your Tail’s pet care professionals are fully capable of handling care routines that they have not been previously introduced to. As long as we are given proper access to your home with clear instructions we can start today. However, we highly recommend and prefer a meet and greet with our clients as this is the best way to assure the safety of your pets and our pet care professionals.

What kind of notice do you need for our pet sitting and overnight reservations?

Wiggle Your Tail generally requires 1-2 week notice for our in-home pet sitting services. Our services are on a first come first served basis so the more notice you provide the better chance you have of booking a pet care professional for the days you need. That also gives us time to set up a Meet & Greet so that we can discuss your pets needs etc. We always try to accommodate all your needs so don’t hesitate to request with less than 24-hours notice.
