Wiggle Your Tail's pet care professionals are fully capable of handling care routines that they have not been previously introduced to. As long as we are given proper access to your home with clear instructions, we can start today.

However, we highly recommend and prefer a free meet and greet with all new clients — it's the best way to assure the safety of your pets and our pet care professionals.

We believe it is important to have a pet care professional that you and your pets know and trust. Having a dedicated pet professional allows us to provide the most personal, custom care possible — we want your pets to feel like their care provider is family.

However, if your preferred sitter is not available, we have other pet care professionals who would be more than happy to step in. Scheduling ahead of time helps confirm your preferred sitter's availability and allows enough time to arrange a meet with a different sitter if needed.

Yes, as long as your pets do not pose a threat to the sitter. When you first contact us, be sure to let us know of your pet's individual medicinal needs so we can pair you with the proper staff member who is able to administer them.

Additional fees may apply for specialized or complex medication routines including injections, IVs, or other specialized services outside of oral and topical methods.

Yes. We offer boarding services in our own homes and do not have a traditional boarding facility. All care takes place at our staff residences, providing a warm, homestyle boarding environment for your pet.

For dog walking, you will receive a pet report card along with photos of your pet's experience after each visit. We want you to feel fully informed and connected to your pet's care, even when you're away.

We provide dog walking and pet sitting services seven days a week, 365 days a year — including holidays. Life doesn't take days off, and neither do we.

Scheduling & Visits

Whether providing daily visits or midday dog walks, your sitter will aim to keep as close to your pet's routines as possible. Just let us know the time range you prefer your scheduled visit to take place.

We schedule all visits with a minimum of a 1-hour arrival window for our sitter. For example, if your scheduled time is 1:00 PM, the window of arrival may be between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM.

Special accommodations may be made by request.

We understand life happens — flights get delayed, work meetings run long, and many things can cause your pets to need care unexpectedly. We will always make every effort to accommodate your emergency pet care needs.

Last-minute scheduling may not be available at the exact time your pet needs services, but we will be there as soon as we can and are happy to clean up any messes that may have occurred during the wait.

Wiggle Your Tail generally requires 1–2 weeks' notice for in-home pet sitting services. Our services are on a first-come, first-served basis — the more notice you provide, the better chance you have of booking a pet care professional for your desired dates.

Advance notice also gives us time to set up a free meet & greet to discuss your pet's needs. That said, we always try to accommodate all requests, so don't hesitate to reach out with less than 24 hours' notice.

Keys & Home Access

Most clients provide keys at the initial meet and greet consultation before services begin, or provide access information to their home at that time.

To best prepare for your visits, we require two (2) copies of your keys. Please test the duplicate keys on your door before handing them over. One key will be securely kept at our office for emergency backup purposes, while the second is held by your assigned pet sitters for the duration of your visits.

Wiggle Your Tail needs to be given access to any and all doors or gates required to reach your pets. This includes providing us with:

  • Gate keys or FOBs/Clickers
  • Gate codes
  • Authorization with any guarded gate attendants

Not providing us direct access to your home may result in additional fees if the pet sitter is left waiting for another solution.

Safety & Policies

In-home pet sittings are geared towards reducing stress and increasing the comfort and happiness of your pet. Your pet may already be dealing with separation anxiety when their loved ones are away — adding an unfamiliar environment could cause a lot of additional, unnecessary stress.

In-home sittings also reduce the risk of your pet being exposed to illness, fleas, and potential aggression from other animals in boarding facilities. The best place for your pet is always home sweet home!

As long as the weather does not pose a threat to either the pet sitter or the pets, we will stay on schedule to ensure proper care during all scheduled visitations.

It is possible that inclement weather (such as heavy rain causing hazardous road conditions) may delay scheduled arrival times. We will do everything we can to keep both your pets and our sitters safe.

When extreme weather conditions occur (including extreme heat), please understand that your dog's walk may be shortened to only a quick potty break. Leaving towels near the door to wipe down a wet pup during rainy seasons helps keep your home clean. The sitter will always stay with your pets for the full duration of the scheduled visit — rain or shine.

We walk each client's dog in the comfort and safety of your own neighborhood. We do not gather dogs from different clients and walk them together at the same time. We take pride in believing that our attention to each client's pet should be focused solely on them.

For the safety of your dog, Wiggle Your Tail does not offer off-leash dog walking. Dogs may, however, be off-leash in the privacy of their own yard or a secured area on your property.

Please note: it is unlawful for a domestic animal to stray, run, go, or roam at-large in or upon any public street, sidewalk, school grounds, school vehicle areas, beaches, parks, or on the private property of others without the property owner's consent.

Due to safety concerns for your beloved cat, we generally keep all cats indoors throughout the duration of our visits.

If you insist that the cat be given dual indoor/outdoor access during or between our visits, we cannot guarantee your cat's return and will not be held liable in the event it does not return.

No. Wiggle Your Tail staff will not stay at your residence if there are other people present. This policy is in place for the safety and privacy of our sitters.

Payments & Fees

For all visits, we require a 7-day notice for cancellation. We can issue a credit to your account minus the 50% non-refundable retainer that secures your dates on our calendar. No refund will be issued.

We guarantee visits on a first-come, first-served basis, so booking early is in your best interest. Our sitters may adjust their personal schedules or family commitments to be present for an overnight stay or drop-in appointment — our cancellation fees help fairly compensate our sitters for the time they reserved.

  • Individual walks: Billed at the start of each service.
  • Recurring walks: Billed at the beginning of each month. Cancelled walks are charged a 50% cancellation fee, or you can reschedule for a credit if within the cancellation policy.
  • Sittings: Payment is required before services begin to reserve your request. We do not issue refunds — however, we will apply a credit to your account for future services, minus the 50% non-refundable retainer.

Payment is required at the time of booking.

There is an additional fee over all major national holidays. Wiggle Your Tail will let you know of the applicable fees when you book your service. This helps ensure our sitters remain available to you during popular travel times.

Absolutely — and it is much appreciated! Our sitters work hard to go above and beyond, and it means a lot to them when they are rewarded for their efforts.

You can give gratuities directly to the sitter by leaving cash, or you may add it to your card at the end of your scheduled visits.

Overnight Services

Our overnights run from 9:30 PM to 7:00 AM. During the overnight, we will do everything you would do to help maintain your animals' routines.

If you would like a midday walk or additional time spent with your pet during the day, we can schedule an additional drop-in visit accordingly. For more information on what overnights include, please visit our Services page.

Overnights have an arrival time of 9:30 PM – 10:00 PM, with departure between 6:30 AM – 7:00 AM the following morning.

If you plan to return late at night, please let us know in advance and we can make arrangements to end the sitting upon your return. Please note that the full night's fees will still be charged for overnight sittings that end before 7:00 AM the following morning.

Privacy & Confidentiality

Yes. Wiggle Your Tail is committed to keeping all information we receive from our clients and staff confidential. We will not disclose any of your personal information, including your mailing address, phone numbers, or email address.

We will only use your information as a means to take good care of your pets and home while you are away. All of our pet sitters have signed Privacy Agreements and are background checked.
